What is WordPress Toolkit?
WordPress Toolkit is the control‑panel companion for WordPress that ships with many HostBible plans (in Plesk or cPanel). It gives you a single dashboard to install WordPress, manage updates, harden security, create staging sites, clone sites, and handle plugins/themes—without logging into each site’s wp‑admin.
Good to know: Feature names and availability can vary slightly between Plesk and cPanel, and between Lite and Deluxe tiers (e.g., Smart Updates is usually a Deluxe feature).
Accessing WordPress Toolkit
Plesk: Log in → left sidebar WordPress Toolkit (or Websites & Domains → your domain → WordPress).
cPanel: Log in → WordPress Toolkit (search “wordpress” if you don’t see it on the home screen).
If you don’t see WordPress Toolkit, contact HostBible support so we can check your plan and enable it where possible.
Core Features (and how to use them)
1) One‑Click Install or Auto‑Discover Existing Sites
Install: Open WordPress Toolkit → Install WordPress → choose domain/subdomain, site name, admin user, and language → Install.
Scan existing: Toolkit usually auto‑detects WordPress under your domains. If not, click Scan (or Scan for WordPress).
Why it’s handy: Keeps all your sites listed on one dashboard with health, version, and quick actions.
2) Safe Updates (Core, Plugins, Themes)
Open your site’s card → Updates (or use the global Updates tab).
Bulk update everything or update items individually.
Auto‑update options let you enable automatic updates for the core, plugins, and/or themes.
Create restore point before updating (recommended).
Deluxe perk: Smart Updates can test updates on a temporary clone and compare results before applying to production.
3) Security Check & Hardening
Open your site → Security / Check Security → Fix to apply recommended measures.
Typical hardening includes file permission checks, disabling in‑dashboard file editing, and other WordPress best‑practice tweaks.
Tip: Re‑run the security check after major updates or plugin/theme changes.
4) Staging, Cloning & Sync
Clone to staging: Site card → Clone → pick a subdomain (e.g.,
staging.example.com) → Start.Work safely: Update plugins/themes or test new content on staging first.
Sync back: When ready, Copy Data (choose files, database, or both) from staging → production (or the other way around).
Best practice: Keep search‑engine indexing off on staging.
5) Backups & One‑Click Restore
From your site card, use Back Up/Restore (or Create Restore Point before risky changes).
Name backups clearly (e.g.,
pre-redesign-2025-09-10), and store them regularly.
Tip: Keep at least one recent backup off‑server as well (download to your device or remote storage via your control panel’s backup tools).
6) Plugin & Theme Management (Bulk Actions)
Plugins/Themes tabs: Install from the WordPress catalog or upload a ZIP; activate/deactivate, update, or remove across one or many sites.
Filter by “Updates available” to quickly patch known issues.
Pro move: Remove unused plugins/themes to reduce attack surface and speed up updates.
7) One‑Click Login (SSO) to wp‑admin
From your site card, click Log in (or Open).
No need to remember per‑site admin passwords when using Toolkit SSO.
8) Maintenance Mode & Search Engine Indexing
Toggle Maintenance Mode while you make changes (shows a maintenance page to visitors).
Toggle Search engine indexing (discourage indexing on staging or private sites).
9) Debug, WP‑CLI & Tools
Quickly toggle WP_DEBUG and related constants from the Toolkit.
Run WP‑CLI commands right from the control panel (where available).
Easy links to phpMyAdmin for database work (in your control panel).

Troubleshooting & Tips
Don’t see WordPress Toolkit? It may not be included on your plan, or it may need enabling. Contact HostBible support.
Site not detected after install? Click Scan; confirm you installed WordPress under the same account/subscription.
Update failed or site broke after update? Use Restore to roll back to your latest restore point. Consider enabling Smart Updates (if available).
Staging sync errors? Ensure the staging domain resolves to the server, clear caches (plugin or server), then retry Copy Data.
Permission issues or white screen? Re‑run Security Check, clear caches, and review your error logs via the control panel.
FAQs
Is Smart Updates included on my plan?
It’s typically part of WordPress Toolkit Deluxe. If you don’t see it, ask HostBible to confirm availability.
Can I run multiple WordPress sites?
Yes - Toolkit lets you manage all your WordPress installs from one dashboard.
Does Toolkit replace normal backups?
Toolkit makes on‑demand restore points easy, but we still recommend scheduled full backups in your control panel + an off‑server copy.
Is this malware scanning?
Toolkit focuses on hardening and safe updates. For malware scans/firewall, use your control panel’s security tools or a dedicated plugin/service.
